Advanced Smoke Technology alongside their sister company Euroduct manufacture and install bespoke AOV (Automatic Opening Vent), smoke ventilators including AOV doors, AOV louvres, AOV dampers, AOV windows and AOV roof access panels along with fire rated ductwork for both natural and powered mechanical smoke ventilation SHEVS (Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilation Systems).

By using established practices such as the BRE shaft system or the MANV system to provide smoke ventilation from corridors and lobbies, cost effective and compliant solutions to meet the requirements of Approved Document B, BS5588, and BS7346 (parts 4 & 5) are achieved.

In high rise apartment buildings with a height in excess of 11m, or where travel distances exceeds 4.5m, it is a requirement of the Approved Document B Building Regulations that any corridor adjacent to a staircase requires smoke ventilation. There is a choice of either an AOV (Automatic Opening Ventilator), AOV (natural) Shaft, or a Mechanical Pressurisation System.

As well as “above ground” buildings, Advanced Smoke Technology also provide basement, enclosed car park, tunnel and lorry loading bay ventilation systems.
